Q. How much will ADS charge me for this services and advice?

A. Our advice is free with a management fee of 15% desucted from your payments each month (typical competitors charge 17.625%)

Q. Is there any way that I can simply ‘write off’ my debts and start again?

A. You have various options. If you go bankrupt, you can write off your debts, but you can also write off your business, getting any credit, loans, mortgage, credit card or even having a bank account for years to come. Another option is an IVA, where it is common for up to 75% of the debt to be cleared at the end of the arrangement. And finally, the least likely option is an informal debt management arrangement with your creditors. They often can freeze the interest and extend the repayment period, but rarely do they ‘write off’ part of the loan.

Q. How much work is involved with Debt Management?

A. It's simple, all you have to do is complete a financial fact find form and return it to us in the stamped addressed envolope provided with the approprate supporting documentation. We will take it from there!

Q. I don’t like talking about money, let alone negotiating with creditors. What is your advice?

A. With a Debt Management plan, there is very little paperwork, a couple of forms and no need to deal with the courts and creditirs yourself. We will act with your best interests at all times and negotiate the best solution for you.

Q. There are differences in Scottish Law, how does it affect me?

A. Residents in Scotland have another option before choosing bankruptcy, called a Protected Trust Deed. It is similar to an IVA where an affordable monthly repayment schedule is established, but for a typical period of 3 years – at the end of the arrangement, any remaining debts are usually ‘written off.’

Q. How long will it take from starting a Debt Management Plan to becoming financially sorted?

A. The sooner you return your simple pack to us the sooner we can get started on your case. It can normally take between 4-12 weeks for the creditors to stop calling you, so we do our best to rush this period through as fast as possible.
